ABOUT

Drew says of this newest print release:

"I'm not back to painting yet, but getting closer every day, after being in a hospital for 4 months.  I wanted to come out with something new to celebrate being home, and I was stoked to rediscover this painting in my archives.  The original painting sold the same day I painted it to Eric Hildwein, a longtime fan and friend of mine.  I first named the painting "ICBM INTERCONTINENTAL BALLISTIC MISSILE", but that name was too long, so I changed it to "LIGHT IN THE SKY."

This painting was inspired by the craziest thing Maria and I saw in the night sky a couple years ago.  It was a huge area lit up bright white and blue with a green tail - at first we thought it was a comet, but it was moving too slow. Later we found out it was an ICBM, an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile that was launched from a submarine right off shore in Southern California.

An ICBM is a missile that can be sent to other continents, across the world.  That night it was a test.  The military even diverted commercial air flights to run these tests.

Gotta wonder? Why? So gnarly seeing this from my front yard.

I decided to make 25 prints, hand signed and numbered, of "LIGHT IN THE SKY."  The rest are available on my website and shipping is free until Monday.  I won't ever make prints of this one again."
