Castles Made of Sand Original Painting by Drew Brophy.
24x30 Inches - Posca Paint Pens and acrylic paint on canvas.
Drew describes the inspiration for this painting:
“As a kid, my summers seemed to last forever. I have great memories of days in Myrtle Beach, surfing, fishing, and building giant sand castles with beach debris. At the end of the day the sand castle was wiped clean as the tide moved in and the sun went down.
Just like the cycles of life, sand castles disappear into the sea, summer turns to fall, and the long winter moves into cold and darkness.
Your life is similar. You are a creation-machine experiencing your own creation, building your castle, creating an experience in this life that “you” perceive as “you”.
In the end your castle melts into the sea eventually. You are but a brief flash of experience in the sea of all that is, just like the waves of summer being released of their energy when they crash onto the shore wiping the slate clean for a new day.”
