FREEDOM - CRUISER FISH style skateboard decks with art by Drew Brophy
Open Edition (unsigned)
Size: 32” long by 9.5” wide
The original artwork was painted by Drew on Lost Surfboards in a collaboration with shaper Matt Biolos. Drew wanted to re-create the art onto collectible skateboard decks.
Special Features:
- The bottom of the board is the art from the original surfboards.
- The deck of the boards are beautifully stained veneer to match the original color of the back and rails of the surfboards.
- We added an extra special touch with Drew’s laser engraved logo on the deck.
Drew says of his inspiration for this art piece: "The FREEDOM board art is a celebration of 'we the people.' The American flag represents all the people that come to America to strive for a better life. I always thought it would be cool to see someone surfing a tube, holding a flag. I decided to make it cooler by making the surfer a skeleton, representing all the people who fought for our freedoms."
This entire skateboard deck series is inspired by two of my favorite personal surfboards; the Lost round-nose fish and the Mark Richards MR original twin fin fish.
My old days of riding skateboards was always a way to get to the beach. I have fond memories of bombing the hills, going to Upper Trestles. Making turns at the bottom of the hill was treacherous!
These decks are great to hang on the wall as art, and also are super functional if you want to bomb hills or carve your way around town when the waves are flat.”
