About the Art
Drew painted the original, a Hawaiian themed Ganesha for his wife, Maria. He wanted to paint it in his own way, so he depicted Ganesha's mouse to be surfing and for Ganesha to be fit, with muscles. Ganesha is one of 5 prime Hindu Deities. He's the lord of success and destroyer of evils and obstacles.
Some say a picture of Ganesha in your home will help you draw in greater knowledge, wisdom and wealth! But, if you love the colors and energy of the art, that's a good enough reason to hang it on your wall.
Ganesha has been depicted in art for thousands of years. The symbolism of each part of the diety has deep meaning that we all can relate to:
The Big Head symbolizes to think BIG, Intelligence.
The eyes: to focus and concentrate on what you want to happen.
The Axe: to cut ego and your desires.
The Broken Tusk: to retain the good and discard the bad.
The Namaste symbol on the left hand: represents blessings and protection.
The Big ears: reminds us the importance of listening.
The trunk: is high efficiency and adaptable.
The pineapple and flower means enjoying the sweet rewards of life.
The Mouse surfing is about the ride on your desires but keep it under control.
