ABOUT WHITE MONKEY:

The original White Monkey painting was inspired by a wild surf trip Drew took to Bali. 

Drew says of the inspiration:  "In 2018 I went to Indonesia to surf.  Met up with my friend Pete, who owns the White Monkey Surf Shop near Padang Padang.  That’s where one of the best waves in the world is. I went island hopping with the surf shop's manager, Eddie, and we had wild adventures island hopping and traveling to waves in some of the most remote places on the planet. At one surf spot, Eddie ran into trouble with a pack of surfers and had to fight them off and that's where the inspiration for this painting came from."

The White Monkey is another name for the Hindu God, Hanuman. He is known as the Monkey King who guards humans from evil spirits. He is a symbol of strength and courage. Something you need when fending off a pack of aggressive surfers.
