Iconic San Onofre Surfing Beach in Southern California - PAINTING of SANO DAZE

I just released wall art prints of my painting SANO DAZE.  

SANO DAZE art was inspired by the iconic "San O" surfing beach, aka the Waikiki of California. San O' is part of the San Onofre State Park, which includes the world-class surf spots of Trails, Church, Trestles and Cottons.

For generations, San O' has been the meeting place for families and friends to enjoy the SoCal surf lifestyle. It's loved for its bamboo tree showers, beach fires, rock pools and beautiful waves peeling down cobblestone reefs. 

This painting depicts a father and son being on the beach at sunrise. They represent all those who fell in love with this paradise. Many have made the best memories of their lives there, and I'd like to think they had the Sano Daze experience for all of us. 

Sadly, San Onofre has been eroding over the years, losing beach, palm trees, and even part of the road. Just like so many things that are simple and good, and then have faded away with time.

It makes me wonder what will be left in the future if we do not protect these amazing places. I have watched so many be destroyed by so-called progress.

At the end of your life, the only thing you take with you is your experiences, you leave everything else behind.  Only your experiences live on forever.

SANO DAZE was originally painted on a huge canvas, 7 feet long x 4 feet high, for a client. It now hangs in their office in San Clemente.
